Die Hard was Alan Rickman's first feature film role. For Hans Gruber's iconic death scene, Alan was dropped 70 feet on a green screen set. The shot used was the very first take; Rickman was dropped sooner than he had been told he would be, so the look of fear on his face is genuine.
