Illustrated by Joseph A. Smith for the 1983 Which Way Book: Invasion of the Black Slime. Which Way books were not read in order. The reader followed prompts to decide what they wanted to do within the story and thus what page to turn to. If they ended up on page 56 they were subjected to this terrifying fate:
"You start to pull your legs up from the end of the bed. But it is too late. A hand, clawed and clammy, reaches out from the dark and grabs your ankle".
